So, we know the big twist of KotOR 1: you are Darth Revan. The Jedi captured you after Malak fired on your flagship in an attempt to kill you and Bastilla, and proceeded to overlay your personality with one loyal to the Republic, possibly 'resetting', at minimum, your morality to how it was before the Mandalorian Wars.

And while the story is highly praised on this forum, I don't remember much character- and story-wise from KotOR 2 except of the big twist, while characters like Revan, Bastilla, Carth, HK-47 or Malak are still very much on my mind, even though I haven't played the games for some time.
