Just start a new game and choose "Gigantic" from the map size drop-down. HOW TO INSTALL IT. I would think that for most civs, the difference between maps is probably not much. But you have some obvious ones like naval civs being better on islands and Māori being insane on Terra. It seems obvious that Civs like the Inca with mountain synergy would want Highlands, but I wonder how that would compare to other map types with a New world ...

I don't think the amount of lakes is map dependant.
